28-7-2014 Kurdpress – A Syrian Kurdish leader official said that Syrian Kurdish regions could be united with Iraqi northern region of Kurdistan and create an independent state.Syria Kurds Patriotic Council Representative in Turkey Behzad Ibrahim said it is possible for the two Kurdish regions to get united and establish a state, adding that there are problems and Syrian pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) may oppose to the issue but the problems could be solved and the party may change its position as the life of Sykes–Picot Agreement is over.

The Islamic State’s Aleppo Division released three photographs of “the graduation of a new batch of Mujahideen” from a training camp in the eastern Syrian province. The photographs were released on July 24 on the Aleppo Division’s Twitter feed. The exact location of the camp has not been disclosed. The photographs show scores of armed fighters sitting and standing in what appears to be a hangar. Jihadist groups in both Iraq and Syria have promoted the existence of at least five training camps this year. The Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria and a rival of the Islamic State; Jaish al Muhajireen wal Ansar (Army of Emigrants and Supporters, or Muhajireen Army), a group of foreign fighters led by commanders from the Caucasus; an Uzbek jihadist group known as the Imam Bukhari Jamaat; and the Islamic State have all promoted propaganda that showcase their training facilities and graduates. July 27, 2014 – Hasakah – Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) has launched an offensive against Hasakah for few days, and took control of Regiment 121, a major military installation in south of Hasakah province. Since then Kurdish People’s Defense Units (YPG) took preemptive steps to protect the city from all directions. According to YPG sources in the city there is no ISIS presence in the city, and the suicide attack resulted death of 17 regime forces was immediately interfered by YPG before additional ISIS reinforcement arrive to the city.

More and more Syrian rebels are defecting to join the ultra-hardline Islamic State insurgency, said U.N. human rights investigators on Friday, in what they described as a “Syrian-ization” of the al Qaeda offshoot. Members of the independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria, set up by the U.N. Human Rights Council in September 2011, informally briefed the United Nations Security Council on Friday ahead of submitting their latest report next week. Brazilian chief investigator Paulo Pinheiro said the Islamic State – formerly known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, ISIL or ISIS – was undergoing a “Syrian-ization.” “What began with a lot of foreign fighters, now you have authentic Syrian citizens,” Pinheiro told reporters. “We are seeing more Syrians coming to ISIS than before.”
