Laut den Vereinten Nationen gibt es Unstimmigkeiten bei der Deklaration der Kampfstoffe. Die USA fürchten, dass Giftgas in die Hände der IS-Milizen gelangen könnte.

Heard the same story today from someone who just came from Sinjar:

After Kurdish Peshmerga forces, working with a special force of Kurdish Yazidis, found a way to rescue the refugees on Sinjar Mountain, they have discovered that members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) have settled on the mountain and formed a youth movement. Peshmerga Forces Commander on Sinjar Mountain, Qasim Shasho, told BasNews that the YPG, the military wing of Democratic Union Party (PYD), has been forcing Yazidi youths to join the movement.

THE ROJAVA REPORT (YPG) 3-9-2014 The YPG Press Center has released a statement in which they summarized the course of fighting between YPG forces and the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) in the Kobanê Canton of Rojava over the month of August, according to a report from ANHA carried by Yeni Özür Politika. According to the report 63 ISIS fighters were killed in fighting in Kobanê over the month of August. 8 members of the YPG and allied groups also lost their lives.

Regime warplanes initiated several airstrikes on the holdout neighborhood of Ghweiran in the joint regime-PYD controlled city of al-Hasakah Tuesday, hitting the district with artillery shells from nearby Jabal al-Kawkab, according to the pro-opposition monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The attacks follow reported attempts by PYD forces to storm Ghweiran from the north, resulting in an unspecified number of PYD and resident casualties along the neighborhood’s northern rim.

Im Internet ist ein Video der Terrorgruppe Islamischer Staat (IS) aufgetaucht, das veranschaulichen soll, wie schnell deutsches Kriegsmaterial in den Wirren eines Bürgerkrieges in die falschen Hände gelangen können: Die Dschihadisten hatten in der vergangenen Woche nach tagelangen Kämpfen den Luftwaffenstützpunkt Takba nahe der Stadt Rakka im Norden Syriens erobert. Und anschließend offenbar Dutzende Regierungssoldaten hingerichtet. Der Flugplatz war die letzte Stellung des syrischen Regimes in der weitestgehend von Dschihadisten kontrollierten Region.
