As part of Hana network in Iraqi Kurdistan, Wadi today helped to distribute stationary and other material to children in Arbat camp for Syrian refugees.

Hana holding a press conference criticised UNICEF and the Kurdistan Regional Government for not finalising site for a new camp in time. Now refugees have to spend winter in tents without functioning sanitary facilities.  More than 350 families of Syrian Kurdish refugees are living in Arbat camp near Suleymaniah. Today a group from HANA network, a group of different NGO’s, Wadi is also an active part, visited the camp again and supplied the children with stationary and other materials.

Assad says won’t relinquish power to opposition: report

November 20, 2013 – The Daily Star – BEIRUT: President Bashar Assad rejected outright the possibility of handing over power to the Syrian opposition as part of any negotiations in the anticipated Geneva II talks, visitors to the Syrian leader quoted him as saying, a local Lebanese daily said Wednesday. “They want us to relinquish Syria to [the head of the opposition Syrian National Coalition Ahmad] Jarba in Geneva II, and thus there is no need [for us] to go to Geneva if this is the general idea,” As-Safir quoted Assad as telling members of the General Secretariat of the Arab Parties’ General Conference in the Syrian capital Tuesday.

Autonome Kurden gegen kurdische Autonomie

Ganz schien es in den letzten zwei Jahren so, als seien die Kurden Gewinner jener Ereignisse, die als arabischer Frühling bezeichnet werden. Irakisch-Kurdistan heute ist eine Oase der Ruhe und Sicherheit, zwischen Türken und Kurden begann ein so genannter Friedensprozess und in Syrien befinden sich große Teile des Nordostens des Landes unter kurdischer Kontrolle.

Nun aber scheinen die Kurden wieder in ihre alten politischen Verhaltensmuster zurückzufallen und sich je gegeneinander regionale Verbündete zu suchen, die ihrerseits wiederum Kurden unterdrücken. Anders gesagt: Diese Woche trafen sich in der Tuerkei der Präsident Irakisch Kurdistans, Massoud Barzani mit dem türkischen Premier Erdogan, um die türkisch-irakisch-kurdische Freundschaft zu vertiefen und zugleich scharf die Autonomieerklärung der PKK nahen PYD in Syrien zu verurteilen.

PYD : Provisional Administration is a Peoples Project

Kurds Divided Over Syrian Autonomy / VAN WILGENBURG

LONDON – AL MONITOR – WLADIMIR VAN WILGENBURG – On Nov. 11, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) announced it would move ahead with its plan to form a transitional Kurdish government in Syria without most members of the rival Kurdish National Council (KNC). The Kurdish parties closer to Turkey or opposed to Iran did not support the plan, while the Kurdish parties closer to Iran and Syria were more positive.

Formation of 10 Committees in Kobani to explain ‘social draft’

10 Committees were created in Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) to inform the public (Kurdish parties, civilians) on the social draft or interim administration plan. The committees consist of four members and will hand over the results and the comments of the public to the Civilian Assembly/Council in Qamishli.

Nasredin Ibrahim Supports PYD Plan

20-11-2013 – To make things more confusing, one of the split-offs from Al-Parti (KDP-S) supports PYD plan (but this party doenst receive any support of the KDP and Barzani anymore): President of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Syria (El-Parti) Nasredîn Îbrahîm stated that his party supports the interim joint administration of Rojava and sees it as a positive attempt for peoples living together in Rojava (West of Kurdistan).
