Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte sieht sich nicht für Hasankeyf zuständig – ein beschämdes Urteil gegen Kultur- und Naturerbe
Heute hat der Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte (EuGMR) seine Entscheidung zur Klage von fünf Personen aus der Türkei zu Hasankeyf verkündet. Der EuGMR sieht sich nicht für Fälle zum Recht auf Zugang zu Kulturerbe zuständig.
Es ist äußerst bedauerlich, dass der EuGMR sich nicht verantwortlich sieht, eine Entscheidung zum Erhalt von Hasankeyf, einem der größten Kulturschätze des Mittleren Ostens und auch Europas, zu leisten. Das vom Ilisu Staudamm- und Wasserkraftwerksprojekt Ilisu bedrohte 12.000 Jahre alte Hasankeyf und das umliegende Tigristal sind bedeutender als Troja, Kappadokien und Ephesus und eines der letzten funktionierenden Flussökosysteme im Mittleren Osten.

Jonathan Spyer – 21 Febr 2019 – – Veteran readers (if any remain) may remember my article a couple of years back about the SADAT defense consultancy in Turkey. SADAT is controlled by General Adnan Tanriverdi, who is also the senior military adviser to President Erdogan. SADAT is an attempt by Turkey to dip a toe into the field of proxy warfare, in the Sunni Islamist interest, of course. The company, according to Kamil Tekeli, a Turkish law professor arrested by the Israeli authorities in 2018, provides arms and assistance to Hamas. Turkey, by the way, is of course the ‘NATO ally’ whose delicate sensibilities must be forever tiptoed around lest it be upset. for the sake of these sensibilities,for example, the Syrian Kurds must be abandoned because Adnan Tanriverdi and his bosses regard them as ‘terrorists.’ Read more here:

GOOD NEWS : Trump signs bill blocking transfer of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday signed a spending bill that blocks the transfer of the country’s F-35 new generation fighter jets to Turkey.
According to spending bill signed by Trump on Friday, delivery of the jets to Turkey will be blocked until the U.S. Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense submit an update to the report regarding the purchase of Turkey of the S–400 missile defense system from the Russian Federation.In earlier report to the Congress, Pentagon said Turkey’s purchase of the Russian S-400 missile systems could result in Ankara’s potential expulsion from the F-35 program, as well as affecting its acquisition of other weapons including Boeing Co. ’s CH-47F Chinook helicopter and Lockheed’s F-16 fighter and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
