February 26, 2014 – Last week, Human Rights Watch released a report detailing the Syrian government’s deployment of “a powerful type of cluster munition rocket not seen before in the conflict” over the Hama village of Kafr Zita earlier this month.
The rocket used in the most recent attack is larger and more deadly than weapons used during earlier stages of Syria’s civil war, and employs a Soviet-era launching system not previously known to be part of the Syrian government’s arsenal:

ISIS attacks YPG positions in Til Marûf
ANF – QAMISHLO 27.02.2014 – The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and groups affiliated to it have launched an attack targeting the People’s Protection Units (YPG) positions in the Til Marûf village of West Kurdistan’s Qamishlo province early Thursday morning. Clashes in the area are reported to be continuing.
Syria: UN & WORLD – “Shocked by Condition of Civilians in Yarmouk” – There is only hunger left !
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency released a statement on Monday about the situation in the Yarmouk section of Damascus, cut off since July by Syrian forces:
UNRWA’s Commissioner General, Filippo Grandi, entered Yarmouk camp during the resumption of UNRWA’s humanitarian aid distribution (on Monday morning). He was shocked by the condition of the Palestine refugees he spoke to and the extent of war damage done to homes.
“I am deeply disturbed and shaken by what I observed today. The Palestine refugees with whom I spoke were traumatized by what they have lived through, and many were in evident need of immediate support, particularly food and medical treatment. What I have seen and heard today underlines the timeliness of the UN Security Council resolution 2139 on Humanitarian Access and the need for all sides to implement the resolution without fail. ”
REDUR XELIL : Syrian Kurdistan’s YPG (PKK) stops all military operations
27-2-2014 – QAMISHLI, Syrian Kurdistan – MESOP : The General Command of the YPG issued a written statement, saying they will act further on only on the basis of legitimate defence, responding in the event of an attack taking place. The YPG, which consists of women and men fighters, was established in July 2012.

Dies ist jetzt die zweite – überarbeitete – Antwort. In einer ersten Reaktion, die sehr schnell nach unsere Anfrage erfolgte, hieß es, die Namen der Hilfsorganisationen seien nicht veröffentlicht worden. Diese Antwort wurde dann wieder zurückgezogen. In der neuen Antwort wird diese Veröffentlichung jetzt eingeräumt und als Versehen bezeichnet (was ich persönlich für glaubhaft halte). Jedenfalls ist der entsprechende Text jetzt von Annette Groths Homepage verschwunden, was immerhin schon mal ein kleiner Erfolg ist. Wir wollen ansonsten noch sehen, ob auch Heike Hänsel reagiert, um dann eine Antwort auf beide zu formulieren:
