23-4-2014 – KRG president Barzani met with the new KDP-S party and told them that the trenches are for securing the region while the official border remains open. While on the other hand blamed the PKK for the postponement of the Kurdish national congress since the PKK demands half the seats and wants a co-chair system. PYD organizes campaign against Syrian government in Qamishli
Revolutionary Youth Movement (close to PYD) organized a campaign to support and assist shop owners in Qamishli who refused to bow to the decisions of the Baathist regime that forces all shop owners to paint their stores with Syrian national flag. This before happened in Hasakah city.

Diplomacy Committe of Movement of the Democratic Society, or TEV-DEM, National Committee of Cizîre Citizens, Şêx Hesen al-Miselêt, Ekrem Mehşûş and Mihemed al-Hesawî were there as observers when the YPG released the prisoners. 23-4-2014 (Van Wilgenburg – Transnational Middle East Observer) The Kurdish Assayish forces –security wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)– arrested on Monday Salih Jamil, member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDPS), and other members of the party near the border village of Karbalat while returning home from Iraqi Kurdistan. Speaking to ARA News hours after his release, Salih Jamil said that he was arrested together with 14 other members of his party (KDPS) by the Assayish forces while returning to the Syrian territories on Monday afternoon.

To detect the regional and global implications of the more than two years of violent developments in Syria warrants an accurate definition of these developments. Borrowing the classifications of conflicts by relevant scholars (Harbom, 2004; Stewart & Brow, 2007; Pettersson & Themner, 2009), a definition of the war in Syria can be formulated as follows:
