DISPUTES & CLASHES BETWEEN KURDISH PARTIES IN SYRIA

15.5.2013 – KURDPRESS / MESOP – Disputes between Syria Kurdish parties fueled after the forces of Democratic Union Party (PYD) stopped the cars of a number of Kurdish party leaders in Turkey- Syria border and investigates their cars.

The move infuriated the leaders, causing protests by Kurdish activists, close to Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani, a Syria Kurdish activist Hoshin Omar told Kurdpress yesterday. The activists asked PYD official apology, calling the move provocative and disparaging. The PYD however denied the claims, stressing the Kurdish forces receive orders from Kurds National Council.

Meanwhile there are reports that YPG forces, armed branch of PYD, have ordered some shopkeepers in Syria’s biggest Kurdish city to draw down the Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s flag and replace it by the PYD flag that represents Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
