MESOP TODAY: HEZBOLLAH & IRAQI SHIA TROOPS INVOLVED IN SOUTHERN ALEPPO – Assad Army, Hezbollah capture several points in southern Aleppo

18 Aug 2016 – Aleppo, Syria (12:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Regime Army (SAA), backed by Hezbollah and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), reportedly captured Al-Qarassi this morning after launching their second attack on this village.

According to a military source in Aleppo, Jaysh Al-Fateh lost three field commanders during the battle of Al-Qarassi; these leaders were identified as “Abu Mohammad Al-Nashimi”, “Abu Ahmad Al-Souri”, and “Abu Al-Bara’a Al-Hamwi.” Following the capture of Al-Qarassi, the Syrian Regime Forces and their allies reportedly seized ‘Amarah village and ‘Amarah Hill after a fierce battle with Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) that resulted in the death of several jihadists. The Syrian Regime Forces and their allies are now attacking the village of Khalsah, which was originally captured by Jaysh Al-Fateh in May of this year.  www.mesop.de
