Iranian military commander dies in Iraqi Kurdistan 

Basnews – November 10, 2013 – ERBIL:  During a visit to meet with leaders of the Turkey’s Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), two Revolutionary Guards died in a car accident. A source, who has asked for anonymity, has told Basnews that “the military commander was on his way back from a meeting with representatives of the PKK and the Democratic Union Party (PYD). This was the third meeting between the groups in the last ten days”.

According to this source, the meeting was held to discuss ways in which to supply weapons and ammunition to the PKK. Turkey’s government has been accusing Iran of offering heavy weaponry and logistics support to the PKK. On Nov. 8, General Muhammad Abdullah, Deputy Commander of the Revolutionary Guards and Lieutenant Sajad Jabari died alongside two other Iranian soldiers, after their car crashed near the Qandil Mountains, in Iraqi Kurdistan.
