DIYARBAKIR-AMED, Turkey’s Kurdish region,— The military wing of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK), the People’s Defence Force (HPG) has released the footage of the Cobra helicopter downed by the the Kurdish guerrillas in the countryside of Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district in Turkey’s Kurdish region at 04:30 on May 13.The PKK claimed responsibility for the downing of a Turkish military helicopter in Hakkari province in Turkey’s southeast. – A video posted online appears to show a PKK guerrilla bringing down a Turkish Cobra helicopter with a Russian-made MANPADS surface-to-air missile launcher. The missile appears to hit the tail of a helicopter, throwing it into a spin before crashing behind a hill. www.mesop.de
