Frankfurt-Based Syrian Activist Dr. Malik Fndy: ‘This Is Why I Support The Islamic State’

2 Feb 2016 – Dr. Malik Fndy, a Syrian from the Dar’a area who lives in Germany, posted a video on the Internet in which he explains his support for the Islamic State (ISIS). In the video, posted on January 7, Dr. Fndy claims that the Islamic State is the only state to implement Islamic law. He criticizes Middle Eastern regimes and sub-state entities, calling them “pigs” and accusing them of collaborating with “the infidels.” He accuses Western media of distorting the image of the Islamic State by not publishing their original and complete videos, where the reasoning behind the stoning of a woman or the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh, for example, is explained. NORTH KURDISTAN : ERDOGAN’S RECORD

Turkey – Turkey Tops Human Rights Violations in Europe: In the European Court of Human Rights 2015 report, Turkey committed the highest number of violations of freedom of expression among its peers. According to Today’s Zaman, “Turkey accounts for a third of all freedom of speech violations at European court.” While Turkey’s record against freedom of expression stands out, the report asserts that Turkey’s most troublesome human rights violation is its failure to provide due process, a responsibility under the European Convention on Human Rights.

Last week, Aynur Karabel and Sermin Terzi were
prosecuted for a political cartoon published in the Hurriyet’s magazine section that allegedly insulted President Erdogan. That same day, CNN Turkey was investigated after it reported on opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu calling Erdogan a “sham dictator.” Well-known Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff was officially banned in Turkey for his cartoons that also target Erdogan. www.mesop.de
