MESOP RECOMMENDATION : KAK KAMAL ARTIN’S WORDS FROM ORANGE COUNTY (US)

The Bernie, Hillary, Donald Ticket – BY Kamal  ARTIN, MD – LOS ANGELES

Considering that women tend to be gentler, more sincere, and caring, I usually choose them over men to run for any position. However, this time I am not convinced that Hillary has more of these qualities compared to Bernie.Bernie insists that he is anti-establishment. One might ask what is wrong with the establishment. Stagnant establishments tend to turn rotten, as evidenced by many corrupt religious and economic institutions. The Washington establishment is becoming similar to the European establishment prior to the Renaissance, which was based on aristocracy and colonialism. The Enlightenment led to the humane concept of equality and so the American founding fathers decided to say ‘no’ to the European establishments and declared independence. By doing so they wanted to build a country in which everyone has an equal opportunity to work toward a dream and pursue happiness.  Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=72733

Abadi has promised anti-corruption reforms since entering office, but had his agenda derailed by parliamentary opposition late last year. The efforts gained new momentum with pressure from prominent Shia. More: www.mesop.de

MESOP “THE FULL STORY” : The Kurds & Assyrians – Everything You Didn’t Know (Bayan Sami Rahman’s tales)

By Max J. Joseph – medium com

2016-03-31 16:31 GMT -This piece is largely in response to the interview: “The Kurds: Everything You Need to Know” — Dave Rubin talks to Bayan Sami Rahman. Let me plain at the outset: the idea of inviting Bayan Sami Rahman, the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) High Representative to the U.S. (and formerly to the U.K.) onto the Rubin Report without asking one difficult, uncomfortable question about the Kurds, their politics, their claims, or the narrative they have been weaving specifically in the Kurdish Region of Iraq, then calling the farce “Everything You Need to Know”, is disingenuous and misleading. How low is the bar now? – That said, welcome to my show, “The Kurds: Everything You Didn’t Know” where I will first comment on Bayan Sami Rahman’s statements then provide you with what could have been touched on in relation to her stated focus, which will be mine too: the Kurds in Iraq. MESOP RESEARCH : The Economic Dimension of Peace in Turkey / By Ben Sollenberger

FIKRA DORUM  1 April 2016 – President Erdogan’s approach to securing the loyalties of Turkey’s Kurdish populace has taken many forms: granting Kurds stronger civil rights, extending the olive branch to the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) insurgency, and permitting the first pro-Kurdish party to gain Parliament seats in a country where political organizations too out of step with the ruling administration are swiftly removed from power. Yet none of these policies led to a secure peace. (…) Like many of his predecessors, Erdogan is now determined to settle the conflict with military force. But the way to beat the PKK is to spur economic growth in Turkey’s Kurdish southeast. Erdogan must put into place a strong security presence in the southeast – but these military forces should be defense-oriented and act as security forces. Currently, these forces are destructive rather than constructive. Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=72727
