MESOPOTAMIA NEWS : PKK LEADERSHIP STATEMENT – ALL POWER FOR THE RECAPTURE OF AFRIN (SYRIA- ROJAVA)

PYD: Let us gather all our capabilities, to liberate Afrin – 18 Mar 2019

The General Council of the Democratic Unionist Party (PYD) said that the sons and daughters of Afrin continue their heroic resistance against the Turkish enemy and its mercenaries adding, “We will gather all our energies to liberate Afrin, which has become a bleeding wound in the Syrian and Kurdish body.”

The General Council of PYD issued a written statement on the first anniversary of the occupation of Afrin, which marks on March 18th.

The statement said:

“On 20 January last year, the Turkish state, with all its brutality and equipment inherited from NATO advanced technologies, launched a war against Afrin, which was a safe haven for anyone seeking stability and was able to occupy and involve mercenaries in the spoils of invasion, including the Kurdish mercenaries.

The occupation of Afrin came as a result of an unprecedented international consensus. A NATO member violates all NATO rules and laws and uses the weapons and techniques to occupy the territory of a neighboring country. And a major country such as Russia intervened in Syria under the pretext of protecting Syrian sovereignty, cooperating with the occupying state rather than confronting it, and the Syrian regime is failing to defend the sovereignty of its homeland not to mention the other interested parties that played the role of that occupation.

In front of this situation, our people in Afrin and its defense system have no choice but to uphold its values and dignity and defend its existence for 58 days.

After the occupation, the Turkish enemy began to implement the planned killing, looting, demographic change, repression and oppression against the Afrin people. The sons and daughters of Afrin continue their heroic resistance in confronting the Turkish enemy and its mercenaries. Let us gather all our energies to liberate Afrin, which has become a bleeding wound in the Syrian body.”
