Emine Kart – ANKARA – Hurriyet – 18 June 2016 – Turkey’s outgoing ambassador to Russia, Ümit Yardım, met with Zhirinovsky in Moscow to this aim in recent days before President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a congratulatory message to Russia’s Vladimir Putin for a Russian national holiday.
Yardım had a tête-à-tête with Zhirinovsky in a private residence in the Russian capital a few weeks ago and they talked about Turkey-Russia relations, reliable sources based in Moscow told the Hürriyet Daily News. 13 Areas of Lice Placed Under Curfew in Southeast Turkey
Hiwa Ahmed – Bas News 19 June 2016 – DIYARBAKIR – A number of villages and other locations in the Kurdish areas of southeast Turkey were placed under curfew prior to the start of the Turkish airstrikes in the area. Early Saturday, June 18th, the Turkish security forces imposed a strict curfew on 13 villages around Lice district of Diyarbakir province where Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) guerrillas are believed to be a active.Following the curfew, the Turkish warplanes started conducting airstrikes in those areas against the PKK guerrillas, the turkish media reported. World Bulletin – 2016-06-18 23:06 GMT – At least 13 ISIL terrorists were killed Friday in northern Syria in a joint operation by the Turkish army and the U.S.-led anti-ISIL coalition, the military said.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement Saturday, 32 ISIL targets in northern Syria, including rear defense positions and defense buildings, were destroyed in the operation.The targets, which were destroyed by Turkish army howitzers and anti-ISIL coalition air jets, had been armed to launch missile rockets at Turkey, the military added. www.mesop.de
