MESOP : THEY ALL SPEAK ABOUT ‘BETTER TIES’ – Nezhirvan Barzani & Erdogan meet in Turkey
29-9-2014 – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discussed bilateral ties as well as latest developments in the region.
In the meeting on the sideline of World Economic Forum on Sunday, Barzani and Erdogan also discussed latest Islamic State attacks on Syria Kurdish regions the group’s assault on Iraq and US-led coalition’s attacks against the jihadists as well as Iraq political developments and forming new government in Baghdad. Erdogan has, reportedly, reiterated on Ankara’s commitment to ties with Erbil and will do its best to help the region overcome troubles. Barzani, in the meeting, has asked for more Ankara aid for Kurdistan Region, adding that Erbil is keen for better ties with Turkey.
