PKK’s Threats Against Kurdistan Region Unacceptable: Head of EU Erbil Liaison Office  – Basnews English  – 11/05/2017 – 11:17 – ERBIL — Head of EU Liaison Office in Erbil said PKK’s threats against the Kurdistan Region are not acceptable, saying that Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is a “designated terrorist organization”. Clarisse Pásztory, Head of EU Liaison Office in Erbil which is part of the EU Delegation to Iraq, told Kurdistan24 that threats from anyone against any region or country are unacceptable.

Reza Altun, one of the founders of PKK and executive member of the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK), the PKK umbrella that hosts its affiliated parties in Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria, had said they would respect no boundaries in Kurdistan Region, threatening to turn the region into a battlefield. Pásztory hopes that PKK’s threats are not real or there’s a misunderstanding from someone without knowing what they say.

Safeen Dizayi, the spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), believes the PKK leader’s statement is a clear threat and is considered as “terror”.PKK’s zone of struggle is not Kurdistan Region, and KRG opposes any interventions in its internal issues by the party. www.mesop.de
