MESOP NEWS STATEMENT BY KCK (PKK) et.al. – KCK: Liberation of Raqqa marks a new beginning in Syria

23 Oct 2017 – KCK celebrated the victory of SDF forces against ISIS gangs in Raqqa and said the liberation of the city marks a new beginning in Syria.

    ANF BEHDINAN Sunday, 22 Oct 2017, 12:31  – The co-presidency of KCK’s Executive Council celebrated Syrian Democratic Forces’ victory against ISIS gangs in Raqqa and commemorated the fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice to liberate Raqqa.“With the victory in Raqqa, the creation of a democratic Syria, which will be reorganized within the frame of democratization, will gain momentum. A democratic Syria where Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Chechens, Druse and Turkmen live together side by side with their own identity and culture, will be a model for all Middle East” the statement read.The statement read as follows:

“SDF destroyed diabolic gangs after a four and a half month of fighting and liberated Raqqa. We congratulate all fighters and people who contributed to the victory. This war was fought in the name of humanity. This is a war for freedom and democracy in the name of all Middle Eastern folks. We commemorate our Arab, Kurdish, Syriac, Turkmen, Turkish and internationalist fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice and wish a quick recovery for the wounded.The victory in Raqqa against ISIS is the victory of the democratic nation in Northern and all of Syria. All Syrian people; Syriacs, Turkmens, Chechens and notably Arabs and Kurds participated in the war. Arab youths played a major role in defeating ISIS and strengthened the mentality of the brotherhood of people and democratic nation. Therefore, we congratulate all people who participated in the Great War which is the materialized form of the brotherhood of people and democratic nation.

We believe that the liberation of Raqqa started a new period in Syria. With the victory in Raqqa the creation of a democratic Syria, which will be reorganized within the frame of democratization, will gain momentum. A democratic Syria where Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Chechens, Druse and Turkmen live together side by side with their own identity and culture, will be a model for all Middle East. The war against ISIS in Raqqa and the materialization of democratic nation perspective showed us how the new Syria should be. The stability and peace in Syria are dependent on democratic nation mentality and practise of democracy with democratic autonomy and federal politic understanding.
