PKK Forces Yezidis to Attend Meetings, Induces Them to Join the Party
Basnews English – 02/01/2018 – 20:22 – ERBIL — The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Tuesday obliged the Yezidi population of Khansure subdistrict near Sinjar to attend a meeting with the party’s leadership in the area, said Peshmerga commander Qasim Shasho.
“They intend to induce the Yezidis into joining their ranks,” Shasho told BasNews.He said that the Yezidis are still suffering from the humanitarian crisis extended from the Islamic State (IS) rule in their hometowns, and they should be kept away from political rivalries. “Today [Tuesday] the PKK fighters visited the Yezidi families door by door to inform them about a meeting they had to attend,” he criticized. www.mesop.de
