RGC Rejects Iran-Turkey Joint Military Plan Against PKK

Basnews English – 22/08/2017 – 17:35  – ERBIL — Iran’s Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) refused on Tuesday to carry out any joint operations with Turkey against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) outside its borders.After the visit of chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces to Ankara, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that a joint Turkish-Iranian military plan against PKK was on the agenda.

According to a report by the Iranian Fars News Agency, the IRGC rejected any plans to conduct military operations outside Iran’s borders.“We have not made any plans to conduct operations outside the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the IRGC’s statement reads.

However, the Iranian military will deal with any group who intends to infiltrate the country with the intention of posing security threats or conducting terrorist activities, the statement added.
