Turkish Heavy airstrike targets Amedi’s surroundings

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — On Monday Turkish warplanes carried out a heavy airstrike attacking the areas around Amedi district in Duhok province but no fatalities were recorded according to Esta’s reporter.

“Turkish aircraft targeted Saragle as well as Sgere village around Amedi district aimed to destroy some positions in Matina mountain ”, but “available clues have shown that no casualties were recorded,” the reporter said.

Monday’s heavy air raid coincided with adding two new military zones in the Amedi vicinity as Esta’s newsman had reported, “Turkey has relaunched its military offensives intensively for nearly ten days, and thus, came after it established two more bases in Amedi district”.

Turkey constantly attacks its desirable target inside the Kurdistan Region territory which is the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) which mainly maintains its bases on the Region’s soil.

The PKK’s hostility toward Turkey dates back to decades ago when they waged an insurgency since 1984 against the state of Turkey. Since then the Turkish military has also conducted numerous ground and aerial cross-border offensives into the deep land of the Kurdistan Region aimed to eradicate the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) activities.
