Friday, 15 August 2014 – Shafaq News / The Islamic Supreme Council, led by Ammar al-Hakim, said that negotiations are still ongoing on the resolution of the National Alliance candidate for the position of first . deputy Speaker of the Parliament , succeeding , Haider al-Abadi, who was commissioned this week to form a government.
The member of the bloc , Mohammed al-Rubaie told “Shafaq News” that “the negotiations are centered on the nomination of either Hussein al-Shahristani or Sheik , Humam Hamoudi for the position of First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the post will not come out from these two characters.” Al-Rubaie said that “the negotiations are ongoing until the arrival of the National Alliance on full consensus among the components of the candidate for the position.” President of the Republic , Fuad Masum had commissioned al-Abadi to assume responsibility for the formation of the next Iraqi government after he received a letter from the Iraqi National Alliance in the parliament, as the largest parliamentary bloc, which confirms that al- Abadi is the only candidate for the post.
