KDPI Suspends Military Activity Against Iran for the Best of KRG – Iran will make obstacles in the the anticipated independence referendum in Kurdistan Region
Muhammed Dargalyi- BasNews – 1 April 2016 – ERBIL — The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) has suspended its military activities against Iran for the best of Kurdistan Region, says the KDPI leader.In an interview with BasNews, Mustafa Hijri, the General-Secretary of KDPI, explained that his party has not given up military activities against Iran, but it rather temporarily suspended armed conflicts to protect Kurdistan Region’s interests in its relation with Iran.
However, Hijri explains, the KDPI has decided to send its Peshmerga forces back to the Iranian Kurdistan where they can stay in direct contact with their people. “They will not be, at the current circumstances, conducting any military offensives; but they will defend if they are attacked.” Hijri insists that the Iranian government has always been against the rights of Kurds and they are now attempting to create obstacles in the expected independence process in the Kurdistan Region. www.mesop.de
