GYV says Gülen didn’t send letter to Erdoğan

5 January 2014 /TODAYSZAMAN.COM, İSTANBUL – Journalists’ and Writers’ Foundation (GYV), whose honorary chairman is Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, dismissed reports that Gülen sent a letter to the prime minister.

The foundation recalled reports by journalists who attended Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s breakfast in İstanbul on Saturday and said Gülen sent a letter to Erdoğan. “We’re saddened that a series of wrong comments were made over false information,” GYV said, regarding the letter. “It is possible that Mr. Prime Minister’s words were not fully understood that led to wrong assessments.” The foundation said in a statement on Saturday that Gülen met with an individual dispatched by a “respected state dignitary” and reciprocated with a letter following the meeting. – The statement also dismissed reports that the letter includes “negotiations.” – http://www.todayszaman.com/news-335765-gyv-says-gulen-didnt-send-letter-to-erdogan.html
