MESOP LATEST 17-4-2014 – Pro-opposition al-Aan TV claimed Thursday that the Syrian government had targeted the Hama town of Kafr Zeita with chlorine gas for the fifth consecutive day, one day after opposition activists published graphic video purporting to show the victims of a poison gas attack on the Damascus suburb of Harasta, roughly 10 kilometers northeast of the Syrian capital. Pro-opposition Smart News reported Wednesday that an attack in Harasta had killed one Free Syrian Army fighter and injured an additional 15 residents, citing doctors who stated that the victims showed signs of having ingested chlorine gas, which causes severe damage to the upper and lower respiratory tracts.

The debate on the resolution will take place today at 15h00, the vote at 16h00 (in STRASBOURG). I’ll send you later the list of speaker, for information. It will be adopted quite unanimously by the Plenary in Strasbourg. No amendments have been tabled.

MESOP Syria: At Least 20 US-Made Anti-Tank Missiles in Hands of Insurgents — More to Come?

“Moderate, well-organized fighters from the Hazm movement have for the first time received more than 20 TOW anti-tank missiles from a Western source,” the official said.Claims have circulated since last week of the deliveries to at least three factions, including Harakat Hazm and the Syrian Revolutionary Front.
