Major Reasons of ISIS Offensive on Kobane?
April 4, 2014 – ISIS attacks against Kobane (Ain al-Arab) very significant for several reasons:
First, ISIS wants to expand its control over a larger geography but Kobane in the middle of ISIS dominated areas, stands as a big obstacle in front of this goal. ISIS currently controls Girsespi (Tab Abyad), Jarablus and Raqqah. It desperately wants Kobane to connect the areas under its control and seize the border gate with Turkey as well.

ROJAVA REPORT 11-7-2014 – A new report from ANF and carried in Özgür Gündem describes the course of fighting over the past week and half in Kobanê. The attacks directed against by gangs of the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) against the Rojava Canton of Kobanê beginning on July 2nd have entered their 9th day, as clashes continue to the West, East and South. According to the most recent casualty figures 338 members of ISIS and 36 YPG/YPJ fighters have lost their lives in the clashes.

11-7-2014 – Rojava Report – As fighting between the YPG and the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) intensifies in the Rojava Canton of Kobanê, the Turkish army is transporting tanks to its southern border with Syria, according to a report from DİHA carried by Özgür Gündem.
MESOP FLASH : Rojava Kurds resist ISIS offensive in Kobanê
Kurdistan Tribune – 11-7-2014 – Since 2nd July Kurd forces have fiercely resisted an offensive waged by ISIS jihadists in the canton of Kobanê, the central of three autonomous Rojava cantons, targeting the strategically important Kobanê city. According to a statement by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), yesterday 16 Kurdish fighters were killed in the northeastern part of the township of Ain Eisa, four in an ISIS suicide bomb attack, while more than 20 ISIS terrorists died in battles elsewhere. Sources close to the Kurdish YPG say ISIS has suffered scores of casualties this week.

July 10, 2014 – ARA News – Damascus, Syria – At least 3 civilians were injured on Wednesday in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus countryside, as clashes erupted between rebels of the Islamic Front and al-Qaeda offshoot group of the Islamic State (known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant ISIL).Meanwhile, local sources reported that clashes took place between the Army of Islam and ISIL militants in Misraba town in the suburb of Damascus.
