SHORT CUTS WEST KURDISTAN (SYRIA) : YPG Starts Battle to Control Girê Spî (Tel Ebyad)?
It seems after successes in Ras al-Ain (Serêkaniyê) and capturing Tel Halaf, the YPG will try to capture Girê Spî (Tel Ebyad). This would connect the Kurdish areas of Hasakah to Ain al-Arab (Kobani) which is isolated and unreachable from Hasakah (unless you smuggle yourself through the Turkish border).

“THE THIRD WAY” : Assad regime helps PYD against Kurdish opposition
BasNews (Erbil): 4-11-2013 – The Democratic Union Party (PYD) is taking control of Syrian Kurdistan, and is doing so through the support of President Bashar al-Assad, says Abdullah Muhtadi, secretary general of the Komala Party (Iranian Kurdish opposition party). “Through the Syrian regime’s support, the PYD has controlled the Kurdish areas and is not allowing other Kurds to join the revolution,” Muhtadi told Kuwaiti newspaper al-Jareeda.
Since the Syrian crisis began over two years ago, the PYD has taken control of the largely Kurdish areas in northern Syria, and has not allowed other Kurdish factions to interfere. There is speculation that the PYD has an agreement with the Assad regime, which allows them to have sole control over the Kurdish regions of Syria.
