Als hätte der türkische Staatspräsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan mit seinen vielen außen- und wirtschaftspolitischen Krisen nicht genug zu tun, kommen seit dem Wochenende noch personalpolitische Turbulenzen hinzu: Völlig unerwartet war am Sonntagabend Ungewöhnlich auch die Art seiner Bekanntmachung: auf Instagram. Dort gab der Zweiundvierzigjährige gesundheitliche Gründe an. Er wolle mehr Zeit mit seiner Familie verbringen. Das Ministerium bestätigte die Echtheit der Erklärung, allerdings war am Montagmorgen unklar, ob Erdogan den Rücktritt überhaupt annehmen werde.

According to the report issued by We Will Stop Femicide Platform on October 1, 2020, at least 16 women were
murdered by men, and 20 women were found dead suspiciously in September 2020 in Turkey.
According to Male Violence Monitoring Report of Bianet issued on October 6, 2020, at least 20 women and 4
children were murdered by men in September 2020. It is also stated in the report that men inflicted violence
on at least 97 women, abused 20 children, raped 19 women and harassed 18 women in the same month. In the
first nine months of 2020, men killed at least 206 women.
