Erdoğan personally formed the armed gang in Germany

It has been documented that the “Osmanen Germania” (“Ottomans from Germany”) is the armed gang of the Erdoğan regime in Germany. The financer of the gang is AKP MP Metin Külünk, who has ordered the gang to engage in armed attacks against Kurds.   ANF BERLIN Thursday, 14 Dec 2017,

The “Osmanen Germania” (“Ottomans from Germany”) gang was organized in 2014 under the guise of a boxing club, and has been on the agenda in Germany for a while. The gang is infamous for arms smuggling, human trafficking, drugs and attacks on Kurds and has grown fast, increasing membership and branch numbers.

The EU Turkey Civic Commission held its 14th Conference on 6 and 7th December 2017 at the European Parliament. The theme of this highly successful conference was the Democratic Alternative to Tyranny and Chaos in the Middle East-Kurdish Vision and Strategies and speakers included Members of the European Parliament, politicians, academicians, experts, journalists and civil society activists.  The conference was supported by the GUE/NGL Group, the Greens-European Free Alliance and the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.

MESOP NEWS PRESENTATION : THE HASANKEYF HERITAGE DOCUMENTARY / VIDEO

NORTH KURDISTAN (TURKEY)

We would like to present you a new documentary on the Ilisu Dam Project/Hasankeyf and offer to all of you to show this documentary in your town/region.
If completed the destructive Ilisu Dam would flood the 12.000 years old town Hasankeyf and a large part of the Tigris River. The director Ali Ergül shot this 20 minutes documentary in 2017 called “Water’s Date of Death” in Turkish and partly in Kurdish, but now we have a version with English subtitles. People from the affected region speak about the heritage of this region and what the planned destruction would mean for culture, ten thousands of people and nature. Ecological activists from Iraq have contributed to this documentary with shootings from the South Iraqi Marshlands.

Turkey is the scene of a flurry of high-level diplomatic traffic this week with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ankara today to hold talks with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders will have tackled a broad range of bilateral matters, notably the conflict in Syria, energy and defense projects as well as the dispute over Jerusalem. The pair were all smiles as they posed for the media ahead of a banquet held in Putin’s honor at Erdogan’s sprawling presidential complex. At a news conference held in its wake, Erdogan announced that a highly controversial deal to purchase Russian made S-400 missiles would be finalized this week.

In Turkey, academics asking for democracy are accused of terrorism – 11 Dec 2017

Last week the trials began in Istanbul of those who signed the Academics for Peace petition <https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/15/turkey-rounds-up-academics-who-signed-petition-denouncing-attacks-on-kurds>  in January 2016. A total of 148 trials are scheduled through to May 2018 <https://bianet.org/english/human-rights/192112-hearing-schedules-of-148-academics-standing-trial-for-signing-peace-declaration> , with new trials expected to be announced in the near future. Each focuses on a single individual, but the indictment is the same for all of them. If they are found guilty, each signatory faces a prison sentence of up to seven-and-a-half years.

In the petition, entitled “We will not be a party to this crime”, more than 2,000 signatories sought a negotiated solution to the military conflict between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Workers’ party <https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/06/what-about-our-human-rights-kurds-feel-force-turkeys-crackdown>  (PKK). At a time of heavy clashes in Turkey’s Kurdish-populated towns, the petitioners objected to the continuation of violence against the Kurdish people, called for an end to the round-the-clock curfews that deprived the population of necessary provisions, and asked that the Turkish government resume talks with the PKK that the government itself had previously inaugurated. The petition referenced violations of international law <https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/may/11/turkey-dismisses-un-alarm-at-alleged-rights-abuses-in-kurdish-region>  and basic democratic principles, and accused the government of “deliberate and planned massacre and deportation”.
