Turkey Accused of Recruiting Ex-Isis Fighters in Their Thousands to Attack Kurds in Syria

Turkey is recruiting and retraining Isis fighters to lead its invasion of the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northern Syria, according to an ex-Isis source.
“Most of those who are fighting in Afrin against the YPG [People’s Protection Units] are Isis, though Turkey has trained them to change their assault tactics,” said Faraj, a former Isis fighter from north-east Syria who remains in close touch with the jihadi movement.
In a phone interview with The Independent, he added: “Turkey at the beginning of its operation tried to delude people by saying that it is fighting Isis, but actually they are training Isis members and sending them to Afrin.”

Two generals were abruptly removed from their posts Dec. 31 and assigned to desk jobs. Gen. Metin Temel, commander of the Second Army, and Brig.-Gen. Mustafa Barut, commander of the Fourth Commando Brigade, were both reassigned by presidential decree to the Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Turkish General Staff. The high-profile and popular Temel, known for his fierce anti-US and nationalist stances, was responsible for counterterror operations in Turkey and ongoing operations in Iraq and Syria.

Was ist wichtiger, die Ziele der Kurden oder Iranische Interessen?!!
Wie wir wissen, haben wir Kurden in Syrien in den 80’er und 90’er Jahren gesehen – als Öcalan/PKK die Interessen der Kurden an die Assads delegiert hat.

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) handed over the city to Damascus in fear of a possible Turkish attack.
“In the current situation, we are still supporting the integrity of Syrian soil. These areas belong to Syria. Once the terrorist organizations leave the area, we will have nothing left to do there,” Reuters quoted Erdogan.Ankara views the YPG an offspring of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), and, therefore, a “terrorist organization”.“It’s not just about Manbij, we are aiming to wipe out all terrorist organizations in the region. Our main target is that the YPG takes the necessary lesson here,” Erdogan said.However, Turkish Defense Minister said before Erdogan’s comment that the YPG has no authority to invite other forces to Manbij.
