ABOUT SYRIA : CONSPIRACY THEORIE’S ALL AROUND
The conspiracy theories that the uprising in Syria is an external manipulation to divide that county already enjoy wide popularity among large segments of the Turkish public. Recognizing a potential avenue to discredit the government domestically, the opposition parties and critics of the government immediately capitalized on the developments in the northern towns in Syria, fueling the fears of a Kurdish state. They argue that, after Iraq, the West is now working to create another “Kurdish state” in Syria.
