MESOP NEWS : DEBUNKING – THE PUTIN & ERDOGAN CONSPIRACY AGAINST PKK/PYD KURDS – Russia-Turkey Secret Agreement over Afrin: Kurdish Leader

Basnews English – 04/02/2018 –  ERBIL — Moscow and Ankara have previously reached an agreement over the current Turkish military offensive on the Syrian Kurdish canton of Afrin, said a senior Kurdish official.

 Salih Muslim, former co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), which rules the Syrian Kurdish territories, said on Saturday that the Russian troops had coordinated their withdrawal from Afrin prior to the beginning of the Turkish assaults. 

In an interview with Kurdistan 24, Muslim vowed that their forces will resist the Turkish attacks to the bitter end, comparing the resistance to Kobani back in 2014 and 2015.

According to Muslim, the Syrian Kurdish forces continue their military cooperation with the US-led Global Coalition in the battle against the Islamic State (IS) despite fierce ongoing fightings with the Turkish forces and Ankara-affiliated militias in northwest of Syria. www.mesop.de
