The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is responsible to provide arms for the Syrian pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and has therefore formed a special unit in this regard. According to Yeni Sefeq, a source close to the Peoples’ Defense Units (YPG), the armed force of the PYD, has revealed that the CIA has formed a special team to provide arms to the YPG. It is said that the team has bought arms from different countries and sends the arms to the YPG.
Talal Silo, a Spokesman of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mostly members of the YOG, has confirmed receiving arms from the anti-IS international coalition. The arms sent to the YPG are enough for the creation of an army, a source close to the PYD said about the U.S. sent arms to the group.He wanted his name to remain unknown. www.mesop.de
