SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ) MESOP NEWS : Kurdish parties do not agree with Barzani’s referendum on independence: Othman

28 June 2016 – MESOP  – ninanews BAGHDAD,— Kurdish leading figure, Dr. Mahmoud Othman said, “The Kurdish parties do not agree on the ideas proposed by Massoud Barzani about the referendum on the independence of Kurdistan from Iraq”.

Othman, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency said that thing is not thoughtful, pointing out that “the other Kurdish parties are not responsive with Barzani, on the grounds that the parties see that there is no suitable ground for putting this matter at the moment.”

He noted that “the ideas proposed by the region’s president is just a statement, and the purpose is for media only, because the differences between the Kurdish parties exist until now, and there are no signs to resolve it in the near future, as there are no initiatives to hold an expanded meeting for the leaders of the region to take critical decisions, therefore, the positions of the Kurdish differ from each other in a lot of important issues, including the crucial question of the referendum and separation. ” Barzani called on the Kurdistan Region’s political parties on June 23 to take “necessary measures” to form a national united effort for a referendum on the region’s independence.
