MESOP : SOUTH Kurdish factions have decided not to return to Baghdad: official

7 May 2016 – The chief of Change Movement (Gorran) faction in the Iraqi parliament stated that factions in the Iraqi northern region of Kurdistan have decided not to go back to Baghdad as long as the political tensions in the Iraqi capital remain unsolved.

Speaking to Xendan website, Hoshyar Abdullah said political faction in Kurdistan Region decided in a meeting on Thursday May 5 in the office of the region’s local parliament in Sulaimani and reached accords on three issues, including not returning to Baghdad as long as the political tension in the capital is not solved. Demanding Kurdish deputies in Baghdad not to attend meetings of the Iraqi government and taking a united stance against Baghdad have been the other two accords that the meeting has decided about. www.mesop.de
