My thoughts/op-ed in @lemondefr on the migrant crisis which has been misconstrued by Kurdish leaders as simply economic & that PKK & smugglers deceived them, but it is rooted in the hopelessness young people feel in the face of growing inequality.
When thousands of Kurdish migrants took the dangerous journey towards Europe, risking loss of life, KRG PM Masrour Barzani tried to persuade Europe that this was economic migration, but this is simply being dishonest. My thoughts above & MB’s below.
