PUK PROXY MET WITH PYD ABOUT GENEVA

The PUK-affiliated Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party in Syria (Partiya Demokrat a Pêşverû ya Kurdî li Sûriyê) met with PYD organizations to discuss the upcoming Geneva conference and how the Kurds will participate in the conference. The question mark is now how the Syrian Kurds will participate in the conference, since the Kurdish National Council (KNC) joined the Syrian opposition coalition, while the PYD is part of the National Coordination Body (NCB). The PYD wants the Kurdish blocs to join the conference as part of the Supreme Kurdish Council. See my article on this issue here. The Talabani-affiliated party used to cooperate with the PYD and joined their security organizations, but left them after the incident in Amuda. Strangely, while the PUK still supports the PYD, it’s Syrian Kurdish affiliate joined the Syrian coalition.
