Thousands sent HPG member Serxwebun Amed to his last journey
9.11.2012 – DIYARBAKIR (DIHA) – People’s Defense Forces (HPG) member Erdal Çaçan (Serxwebun Amed) was buried by thousands of people under the slogans of “Martyrs do not die”. Speking in the funeral ceremony BDP Diyarbakir provincal co-chair Zübeyde Zümrüt, “AKP government is insisted on war. So, we, as Kurdish people, we are going to insist on resistance,” stated.
People’s Defense Forces (HPG) member Erdal Çaçan (Serxwebun Amed), who lost his life in a clash in Guroymak district of Bitlis on 1 October, was buried by thousands of people. The funeral has been met by thousands people in Diyarbakir. Thousands of people, among them BDP Diyarbakir Parliamentarian Nursel Aydogan, BDP Diyarbakir provincal co-chair Zübeyde Zümrüt, Diyarbakır Metroplitian Mayor Assistant Hafize İpek, MEYA-DER, 78’s Diyarbakir Initiative, MEYADER, TUHAD-DER, Peace Mother Initiative members, BDP province and distirct executives came together in the garden of Yenikoy Cemetery.
After the funeral was washed, family applied henna on his hands. In the encountering place, the youngs carried the flags of PKK and the posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and HPG members Erdal Çaçan (Serxwebun Amed). After the religious duties fulfilled, citizens shouldered the coffin, which was decorated with PKK flags. They brought the coffin to the cemetery under the slogans of “Martyrs do not die”, “Revenge”, “Life is impossible with Leader”, “We turn down a world without Ocalan”, “Long live Leader Apo” and “PKK is the people, people is here”. The “Çerxa Şoreje” march was read by thousands of people at the cemetary. The mass held one-ninute silence with victory signs.
