Syrian Kurdish parties postpone congress / Border crossing forbidden by PYD dictatorship
29-2-2014 – Kurdpress – Four Kurdish Syrian parties affiliated with National Council called off their planned gathering due to problems in Simelka border pass way.
According to Rudaw four parties of al-Party, Yakyati and two other parties called Freedom were seeking to hold a coalition called political unity. 500 members of the parties were not allowed to cross Simelka border pass way by Cezire canton local police. The canton’s police has stated they people will not be allowed to cross border until they have permission from the canton’s interior ministry. The people, however, do not recognize the canton and its political system.
