Syria Kurds should be protected: Nouri al- Maliki
6.8.2013 – Kurdpress – The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki asked for the protection of Syrian Kurds against attacks of extremist Islamic groups including Jabhat al- Nusra.
Speaking with Afaaq TV, Maliki warned about the Syria extremist group’s assaults against Kurds and said his country has earlier warned about such groups from the very beginning of Syria conflict. He further asked for action against al-Qaeda and its members and warned Kurds, especially people in Iraqi region of Kurdistan, not to endanger the lives of their children by sending them to Syria.In the interview which is to be released soon, Maliki said al-Nusra and other extremist groups have to be controlled to prevent further bloodshed.
