Syria Kurdish parliament ratifies laws / 16 Parties excluded from PYD dominated meeting

8-1-2014 – Kurdpress – Democratic Autonomy Legislators System, the parliament of Syria Kurds passed autonomic laws for ruling the Kurdish region in the north of Syria.

Based on the model, a 51-article wirtting, the parliament will have 101 deputies and each one should win at least 15000 votes to be elected as a parliament deputy. The party that has won most of the votes will be allowed to form government. More than 16 parties, close to Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani, were excluded from the gathering dominated by the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
