STATE COMPLIMENTS FOR APO ! Atalay praises Ocalan’s role in peace talks
Kurdpress 17-1-2014 – Turkey Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay appreciated the role Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) jailed leader, played in peace talks between Ankara and the outlawed party, T24 said.
“Like it or not; Ocalan has played a fruitful role in the talks. No blood was shed in 2013 and that’s one of the result of one of Ocalan’s participation in the talks,” Atalay, also chief of Turkey Anti- Terror Command said. He stressed the talks should continue with Ocalan. “There is no problem in the talks fortunately and the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) has met Ocalan and talked to the PKK officials. That’s praiseworthy,” he went on to say. He further claimed Turkey opposition Republican people’s Party (CHP) and National Movement Party (MHP) are against making reform in the constitution in order to hurt the peace talks. It is worth mentioning that Ocalan had recently demanded the talks should change into official negotiation.
