Campaigners blame security forces for disappearance of Hawler student

News from Kurdistan Tribune  – 15.9.2012 – Kurdish political activists, journalists and civil organisations are campaigning to find out the fate of a young student, Najmadin Abdulkadir, who was kidnapped from his home in Hawler on 3rd September. 27 year old Najmadin is in his final year at medical school. His abduction was first reported in the local newspaper Hawlati. In a statement to the media, campaigners say they are holding the local security office responsible for Najmadin’s safety. “This case is very much reminiscent of Sardasht Osman’s case”, they state, referring to the young journalist who was abducted in Hawler two years ago and found shot dead in Mosul. Furthermore, they say, this kind of incident will destroy trust between the people and security forces in Hawler and everywhere else in Kurdistan
