Senior PKK operative among four killed in clashes

26 November 2012 / TODAYSZAMAN.COM, İSTANBUL – A senior operative of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has been killed by Turkish security forces in the southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakır.

A statement released by the Diyarbakır Governor’s Office said on Sunday that at least one PKK terrorist was killed in the military operation in the Lice district of Diyarbakır and that one heavily wounded PKK terrorist, who was taken away by a retreating PKK group, later died. The statement said the dead PKK terrorist was a group leader codenamed “Rojad” and was leading a group called “Dibek.”

The statement said the killed PKK terrorist was also the mastermind behind a Nov. 2 attack on the Narlı Military Base in Diyarbakır. – Meanwhile, the Osmaniye Governor’s Office also said in a statement on Sunday night that two PKK terrorists were killed in clashes in the Hasanbeyli district. The statement said the security forces seized weapons, military equipment and documents belonging to the terrorist organization.
