PYD has not negotiated with Barzani / BUT LAYLA ZANA MET WITH BARZANI

1.12.2013 – The Syrian pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) denied recent reports that the party has held negotiations with Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani and added Turkey independent Deputy Layla Zana has intervened in Barzani-PYD tension on her own.

Speaking with Kurdpress on Saturday, the PYD representative Jaaffar Akash refuted the party has held any meetings with Barzani, rejecting media reports that the two sides has discussed their rifts, deepened after the Kurdish region did not allow PYD Leader Salih Muslim to go to Baghdad through the autonomous enclave a few weeks ago. Akash further stated Zana meeting with Barzani has no link with the party and she met Basrzani on her own. “Syrian Kurds are unhappy with Barzani after he denied the occurrence of any Kurdish revolution in northern Syria.
