PYD forces Kurdish girls to join YPG fighters / Attacking homes of KDP-S supporters

26.05.2014 – BasNews, Syria – According to a source in Syria’s Kurdish area, who has asked to remain anonymous the Democratic Union Party (PYD) has been forcing women to join their military forces.

Last week members of PYD’s military wing the People’s Protection Units (YPG) allegedly attacked a Rubaryan in Derek and a number of homes that belonged to the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Syria (KDP-S) supporters. According to the source the YPG soldiers forced a number of girls to follow them, threatening them if they refused. Villagers told BasNews that they have expressed their concerns regarding PYD’s actions to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The residents told the PKK that if the PYD continues with violence and forceful recruitment of girls they would be forced to abandon their homes.
