Politicians on trial condemn Paris killings
14 January 2013 – ANF – The 66th hearing of the main Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) trial has started at Diyarbakır 6th High Criminal Court.
175 people, 108 currently in prison, are tried within the scope of the KCK Diyarbakır case, including Kurdish politicians, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) mayors, human rights defenders and journalists. Thirteen defendants, including BDP mayor Hatip Dicle, aren’t attending the trial in Diyarbakır. Mersin’s Akdeniz Municipalty Mayor M. Fazıl Türk and BDP deputy Nursel Aydoğan are also joining the trial which is continuing with Viranşehir mayor Leyla Güven’s speech on three Kurdish women assassinated in Paris on 9 January.
