PKK says Turkey should choose either serious talks or urban civil war

1.11.2013 – MESOP / KURDPRESS – A leading member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) warned Turkey over its peace talks with the PKK and threatened Ankara will face a civil war in the cities if it will not be serious in the peace settlement.

Writing on article in Yeni Ozgur Politika, PKK leading council’s co-leader Base Hozat said the peace talks have ended for PKK since it was only the party which was taking peaceful steps and “naturally the talks cannot continue unilaterally.”  “Erdogan (Turkey PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan) has no other choice except serious talks otherwise civil war will hit the country,” Hozat threatened, adding that this time the fights will not be in the mountains but in the cities. He stressed that Kurds have played a big role in establishing Turkey Republic but their role has been ignored.
