PKK members should return own countries: KRG spokesman

Erbil- 27.3.2013 – MESOP – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Spokesman Sefin Dezaee said the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) should return their countries as they will withdraw from Turkey.

Talking to reporters at a time that KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani was in Turkey to discuss the PKK and the peace process with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Dezaee said the autonomous region backs ending fights and the thirty-year-long conflict between the outlawed party and Turkey.

The most logical and possible way is to end Turkey Kurdish problem through political efforts, Dezaee said, stressing that the autonomous prospering region will play its role as a mediator in the talks. “A situation has to be made for PKK members to return their countries since all of them are not Turkish but there are Iraqi, Syrian and Iranian members. I believe all the members should return their countries,” he said. Dezaee, however, refrained to answer an Anatolia news agency reporter about a possible meeting between PKK and Turkey National Intelligence Organization (MIT) in Erbil, but only said the talks are more important that the venue of the negotiations.
