Brigadier General Manaf Tlass To Head Syrian Military Council
Wednesday February 17th, 2021 by ZAITUN AGENCY (Opposition website) – High-profile regime defector Manaf Tlass will head the Syrian Military Council, according to Zaitun Agency.
The head of the Free Officers’ Association, Brig. Gen. Talal Farzat, emphasized in an exclusive statement with Zaitun Media Agency that the idea behind the Military Council is both old and new, as it was first proposed in 2016 and brought back today with the aim of finding a solution to the Syrian situation.
The proposed joint Syrian Military Council includes armed factions and defectors from the regime, will seek to remove foreign forces and militias from Syria, unify the country and its forces, and sponsor the political solution.
According to Farzat, “The council is an urgent necessity at this stage and it would be the most important achievement, for without the Military Council there can be no stability in the post-Assad era.”

A WEB SERVER BASED in Holland and owned by a company registered in Cyprus is being used by the Iranian government to spy on its critics abroad, according to Dutch public radio. The Lancet last week released a sweeping and much vaunted report on “public health and policy in the Trump era.” Its first key finding is that Donald Trump “politicised” science, which “posed a uniquely urgent threat to health.”
The report, “Public Policy and Health in the Trump Era,” offers a host of “science-led” proposals it claims would mitigate that threat, from the implementation of the Green New Deal and a complete ban on coal mining to higher taxes, cuts to defense spending, and Medicare for All. The list goes on: Repealing the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding for abortion, would also improve public health, as would an “explicitly anti-racist” agenda to eliminate gaps between minorities and “non-Latinx white people.” Reparations for blacks, Native Americans, and Puerto Ricans should be part of that agenda, the authors say.

Das Coronavirus könnte doch aus einem Labor in China stammen. Laut einer Studie der Universität Hamburg spricht vieles für einen Labor-Unfall an einem virologischen Institut in Wuhan.
Zu dieser Erkenntnis kommt der renommierte Physiker Roland Wiesendanger in einer Untersuchung, die er im vergangenen Jahr durchgeführt hat. Demnach sprechen sowohl die Zahl als auch die Qualität der Indizien für einen Laborunfall in Wuhan als Ursache der gegenwärtigen Pandemie.
Wiesendanger nennt mehrere Indizien
Bisher sei kein Zwischenwirts-Tier gefunden worden, welches den SARS-CoV-2- Erreger von Fledermäusen auf Menschen übertragen habe. Außerdem könnten die SARS-CoV-2-Viren “erstaunlich gut” an menschliche Zellrezeptoren ankoppeln und in menschliche Zellen eindringen – laut Wiesendanger ein Hinweis darauf, dass der Virus-Ursprung nicht natürlich sei.
