Political Correctness: Darf man Donald Duck zensieren?

- Jun 16 2021 09:40 Gmt+3 AHVAL NEWS – U.S. President Joe Biden may put aside disagreements with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as the two leaders attempt to improve a fractured relationship, said James Jeffrey, a former U.S. envoy to Turkey.
Biden and Erdoğan met at a NATO summit in Brussels on Monday to discuss a series of bilateral disagreements. They include U.S. support for Kurdish militants in Iraq, which Jeffrey said would continue so long as U.S. troops remained in the country.
Turkey’s acquisition of S-400 air defence missiles from Russia in 2019 have resulted in congressionally mandated sanctions against its defence industry and Turkey’s exclusion from a programme to purchase the F-35 stealth fighter jet. The latter was a “big military loss” for the country, Jeffrey told CBS News in an interview on Tuesday.

Overview
- Tension at an all-time high before the flag march: Fatah and the Palestinian Authority (PA) have warned Israel not to “play with fire” while calling for a general mobilization and confrontations near the Damascus Gate. Hamas threatened to renew rocket fire at Israel and called for confrontations in east Jerusalem. In the meantime, Egypt is trying to prevent Hamas from attacking southern Israel.
- Tensions unabated in Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem: A stabbing attack was prevented at the Qalandia Crossing. On the night of June 9, 2021, two officers in the PA’s security forces and a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist operative were killed in Jenin during an Israeli security force action to detain Palestinians wanted for terrorist activities. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called the families of the Palestinians who were killed, including the family of the operative from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad to offer his condolences
- Following the swearing-in of the new Israeli government, both Hamas and the PA condemned the support given by Naftali Bennett, the new Israeli prime minister, to Israeli settlements in Area C, claiming there is no difference between Bennett and Netanyahu.
- Addenda to Operation Guardian of the Walls: A terrorist tunnel was exposed in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City under an UNRWA boys’ elementary school. It passed under the school yard at a depth of between 7 and 8 meters. UNRWA condemned the tunnels dug under its schools by the “armed groups” in the Gaza Strip. The Hamas and PIJ leadership continue promoting a narrative of victory, threatening new hostilities with Israel.
- Rebuilding the Gaza Strip: Differences of opinion have surfaced between Egypt, the PA and Hamas regarding responsibility for rebuilding the Gaza Strip. To settle the differences, a delegation headed by Ziad Abu Amru, deputy PA prime minister, left for Egypt. Internal disagreement and disputes between the Palestinian factions caused the cancelling of the meeting that was supposed to be held by the Palestinian terrorist organization representatives in Egypt and they left without holding the meeting.

Lebanon’s crisis threatens one of its few unifiers, the army
France is convening a virtual fundraising conference Thursday seeking emergency aid, after army chief Aoun visited Paris last month pleading for assistance. – KURDISTAN24 – 16 June 2021
Since the civil war, through wars with Israel, militant bombings and domestic turmoil, Lebanese have considered their military as an anchor for stability, one of the only institutions standing above the country’s divisions.
But the military is now threatened by Lebanon’s devastating financial collapse, which the World Bank has said is likely to rank as one of the worst the world has seen in the past 150 years.

“We Welcome the Launch of the `Defend Kurdistan` Initiative”
For almost two months, heavy fighting has been going on between the guerrilla – this selfless force of the Kurdish people`s struggle for freedom – and the Turkish occupying army. In the areas of South Kurdistan, which the Turkish army wanted to capture within a few days, an enormous resistance has been taking place since then. Today, the Turkish army is stuck on a few occupied hilltops, and the guerrillas’ daily blows are taking a heavy toll on it.

Jun 16 2021 11:35 Gmt+3 AHVAL NEWS – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has outlined plans to set up a regional cooperation platform with Russia after attending a summit of NATO’s leaders on Monday.
The platform, which would also include Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, would guarantee regional stability, Erdoğan said, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported on Tuesday.
“We are willing to make all kinds of sacrifices, Mr. Putin as well,” Erdoğan said at press conference with Azeri President İlham Aliyev in the town of Shusha in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. “With the steps to be taken in this regard, the region will become a peace zone.”

The military particulars of the clash between Hamas and IDF doctrines reveal much common ground with potential future conflicts involving the other members of Iran’s “axis of resistance.”
Last month, the Hamas operation “Sword of Jerusalem” met the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation “Guardian of the Walls” in the fourth major conflict between the two parties since Israel disengaged from the Gaza Strip in 2005. This round pitched two very different military doctrines against each other. Following Iran’s art of war (and using more than a few Iranian-designed weapons), Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) relied mostly on rocket and mortar fire against Israel’s populated areas, complemented by attempted attacks over- and underground, by air and sea, and in the cyber domain. For survivability, Hamas embedded its military assets and operations in the heart of Gaza’s densely populated areas, investing heavily in digging an underground network of military tunnels that it dubbed “Jihad City.”

Till Kinzel: GEORGE ORWELL NEU GELESEN MIT ROBERT HABECK
1984 : Roman / George Orwell. – Lutz-W. Wolff.

Marius R. Winter: BEMERKUNGEN ZU SPRACHE UND ZENSUR
